Teaching Practice

1     Procedures of Teaching

I started my class with a loud greeting, I then introduce my name and home country. Before we proceed to formal discussion, I gave first an energizer and motivation activity which surely capture their attention.

I then introduced my topic, and discussed all the elements as written in my lesson plan. I first demonstrated the games, which are; dodge ball and sack race then proceed to the activity by team.

I witnessed how my students play and enjoy the activity, even my cooperating teacher Mr. Hien did not miss the chance to join and play with them.

Before I end the class, we made time to share some take aways and feedback pertaining to the whole discussion. Overall, it was great!

3     Classroom Management

Prior to demonstrating, I am quite nervous on how I'm gonna manage the class. I did not even know their personalities and behavior, and it is my first time to meet them.

When the class has started, I noticed that there were a variety of students. Some need a little more prodding, some are too active, and some are demure.

I opted to give attention on the struggling students, even if I recognized the efforts made by the active students. In an effort to foster an inclusive, respectful, and learning-oriented classroom environment, I made sure to offer everyone an equal opportunity to engage.

   Time Management and Organizing Activities

I ended my first demonstration prior from the allotted time. In my end I was contented of how I delivered my lesson. Little did I know, lesson must be done on time or at least ten minutes before based on the feedback of my cooperating teacher, Mr. Hien.

Learning is everywhere. In my second demonstration, I embody Mr. Hien's feedback. Making sure I am not too fast, not too slow but I am on the right timing. And boom! I finished it on time with enthusiasm and dedication.

4     Problem-Solving while teaching and staying in the designated school

My demonstration was held in schoolyard, expected it has open space and not only my class will be held there. A problem has arise, there are moments that my students were getting too noisy, I blown my whistle and gladly, it worked.

Further, there are some English words that the student's find hard to understand, its a bit challenged not until my buddy translates for me.

Of these, I realized that I made education with no borders. Despite of language barriers, I effectively demonstrated my lesson--of course through the help of my buddies, CT, and supervisor. Cam On!
